Eiger Labs F10 & F20 MPMAN portable MP3 players GUI Project
OVERVIEW:
This is one of my first projects for the Linux Open Source community. I
am an Old Time Radio fan. That is listening to shows from what is called
the Golden Age of Radio (i.e. 1920-1950). It is becoming popular to encode
these shows with the mp3 format for storage and to file them away on cdroms.
There is a new gadget on the market from several manufactures that are
portable mp3 players. They contain no moving parts. The MPMAN from Eiger
Labs is one such player. It currently comes in two models. The F10 and
the new F20. This GUI software will support the F10 and the F20.
This software consists of two parts: two backend programs and a front
end program. I have developed the front end program which is a GUI written
with lesstif. The backend programs were developed by the Snowblind Alliance.
Now on to the good stuff.

To run this software you will need to download the software specified under
the software section of the Resources section. It contains the frontend
software and the two backend programs. Read the README file for details
on how to compile, install, and run the software. The software does
require Lesstif to compile the GUI software. This software should be available
on your distribution. If not then get the software from the web page listed
in the resources section. The F20 will require a parallel port of the type
ECP or EPP.
